Seal
Seals are air-breathing mammals that are at home
on beaches, rocky shores, and in the sea. They are
able to dive to depths exceeding 600 feet and can remain submerged for over 20 minutes. Seals are
graceful and efficient swimmers, because they use their hind flippers for propulsion and fore-flippers
as rudders. Movement on land is slow and difficult. They have a loud bark that identifies them.
They often huddle in family groups on the shore. |
